Doyle Knife Height Gauge

Description:  This tool is consists of a 1” travel dial indicator mounted in an aluminum fixture that rests on the knife tip. It is held flat against the back face of the knife by magnets. Hardened dowels provide for a non-wear seat for the knife tip. The indicator foot rests against the top of the knife bar’s backing plate.

Usage:  This tool will easily and accurately measure the distance from the knife tip down to the backing plate. The knife height can be consistently set all the way across once the spindle centerline knife height has been established at each end.

Benefits: Easy to use, accurate measurement (within .001”), makes using a scale to set the knives obsolete. This insures consistent peel quality and lathe setup from shift to shift.
